There was a lot going on this week and my brain simply cannot comprehend writing a long intro.

I looked at my list of possible topics and every single one seemed like a mountain to climb. Even the idea where I want to talk about how much I love goldfish crackers. I simply ran out of brain power.

Instead of forcing it, I'm doing what I need and resting.

Take care of yourself when you need to.

  • If you think workplace monitoring is right, you're wrong. [NYT - gift link]
  • How to make your device's battery last longer. [WaPo - gift link]
  • Where is color going? [Macleod Sawyer]
  • How student loan forgiveness is going to be a political problem. [The Atlantic]
  • The case for wearing jeans in the summer. [Medium]
  • The good bacteria. [NPR]
  • I do this older mom math too. [The Cut - may be paywalled]

  • What the *bleep*! [99% Invisible]
  • The power of pigeon poop. [Atlas Obscura]
  • Shhhh. [Short Wave]

  • When we couldn't decide on what to watch one night, I made the executive decision to put on Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. This is just your average action flick. It was setting up Chris Pine as the new Jack Ryan but that didn't go anywhere. Also, the cast was a lot better than you usually get for this kind of movie. Kenneth Branagh directed! [Amazon Prime]
  • Spiderhead is a slow but intense film. The summary vastly undersells what the plot is about. But, I get that. You can't fully explain the plot without giving everything away. Chris Hemsworth really seemed to relish playing his role. [Netflix]

  • White fish can be rather plain. I love how this oven baked fish with tomatoes adds another level of flavor. We served it with garlic bread and a salad. I do recommend making sure your fish is fully defrosted before baking. Our cook time was twice as long. [Budget Bytes]
  • Since the kiddo loves gnocchi, I am always looking for new recipes. I made gnocchi with chicken sausage and tomatoes. Under five ingredients and a whole lot of flavor. This is going to make it into regular rotation as a weeknight dinner. [The Kitchn]
