The Now: September 27, 2023

My brain seems to be glitching a lot this week. Between a weekend work conference, travel, and the kiddo waking me up with nightmares about bugs in her bed, I'm a bit fried. I am forever grateful that I work with a great bunch of people who are supportive of one another.

Here's what I'm managing to get to this week:
  1. Research Assignment Design: We, essentially, have a rough draft of our article. There are still some patches that need to be fleshed out (*coughLitReviewcough*) but it's in editable form already. We're still doing some co-writing but, today, I started to read through for a content/question edit. I'm holding myself back from my usual red pen edit until later.
  2. Hey the Library Exists!: Now that we're in the meat of the semester, I'm doing some marketing to both faculty and students to remind them that the library is here for them. I tend to get slightly higher engagement around this time because students are starting work on research projects. This is when they realize that they actually need us.
  3. Fall Transition: The weather is (finally!) getting chillier. We're starting to transition all our wardrobes to warmer stuff. For me, this is easy. For the kiddo, we need to buy some clothing. This is also the time when we realize that the kiddo's love for dresses means we have a lot of untouched summer clothes. Those will get donated. One day we'll learn to buy less.
