The Now: October 4, 2023

Even though I knew the national alert was coming today, I still jumped when my phone went off. At least it provided a decent jolt of energy to my afternoon.

Here's what I've been working on:

1. Research Assignment Design - I think we're going to be able to reach our goal of having a first draft of an article by the end of this year. We have our (very) roughly written piece done. Now we're rearranging and shortening where we can. When you group write it can be hard to remember all the content. Now that we're editing, there is lots of duplicative material we feel safe cutting from the piece.
2. Internet Librarian Presentation - Later this month, I will be presenting a session on customer service. Today, I dumped out an outline and tried to get all of the material I want to cover on paper. Next up, I'll be reviewing the outline for gaps before I start making slides. I also need to track down a few of the resources I want to include. This presentation follows my desire to share the benefits of person-centered service in as many place as possible.
3. Calendar Logistics - The husband is running a marathon at the end of this month. We spent some time reviewing our calendars to make sure that he can get in all his final training runs. We also wanted to make sure we could balance, as much as possible, or parenting and sleep-in days.
