I normally try to get my posts up some time in the afternoon. Today, that was not possible. I was head down on a project all day and am just now, after the usual dinner/kiddo bedtime rigmarole, getting to catch my breath.

Here's what I'm working on:
  1. Person-Centered Management Book: The final version of my chapter for this book is due on Friday. I received the edits a few months ago and, due to sheer lack of will to deal with them, just got around to this today. The suggested revisions were extensive but necessary. I was over the word count and a bit repetitive. After I accepted track changes on most of the line edits, I was left with an easier to read document where I could get to the meat of the content revisions. After much debate with myself, I finally added a few citations where the editors expressed they would like some. My chapter is reflective so using citations still feels a bit off to me. I'm going to sleep on the changes tonight and give it one final review tomorrow.
  2. Library Marketing Conference: Slides for my presentation are due next week. I already have an outline developed but there are a few more things I want to drop in before I build out the slides. I have never been so excited for a presentation. I think this one is speaking to me because I'm talking about content creation burnout and I know that everyone has a lot of feelings around this.
  3. Christmas Prep: It's not too early! I started putting together a gift list for our kiddo. I know the grandparents are going to ask for ideas any day now. Thankfully, kiddo's been vocal about wanting one item in particular. (That's going to be the Santa present.) I've got most of the ideas down, but I'm still short one or two. I don't think our families would accept "She doesn't need any more toys" as an option.
