The Now: May 8, 2024

This day feels like a complete disaster. Two of my colleagues are battling HR on a years long issue that just exploded, my kiddo said her tummy hurt at school (but then was fine?), and I just got a boil water advisory alert. I'm going to need things to calm down a skosh.

Here's what I've been working on:
  1. Content Calendar: Now that the spring semester is wrapping up, I need to get things ready for the summer and fall. I fleshed out all my content for the summer so I know what topics I'll be covering on what platforms. I also framed out the calendar for the 2024-2025 academic year. That's mostly just dates and platforms, but it means I can start filling things in as they happen. The issue I'm running into is, at some point this summer, we will be moving back into our remodeled space. We don't know exactly when so a lot of things are still up in the air.
  2. University Committee Work: Our university is going through the reaffirmation process for our accreditation. It's the longest and biggest group project. I'm trying to hold up my end of things but also setting boundaries for what I will NOT be taking on. There's just too much for one person.
  3. Content Prompt Expansion: Following the results of my reader survey, I've begun my expansion strategic planning. I'm working on some spreadsheets and content calendars. I already started the easier stuff which includes a new section in the daily newsletter AND a new weekly community discussion post.
