The Now: March 13, 2024

Why is every conference center so darn cold? I've taken to bringing a pashmina to act as a blanket because keeping my coat on is not a enough. I get that things can get warm when a lot of people are around but, if most of the audience is bundled for winter weather, you've gone too far. 

Here's what I'm shivering through:

1. Computers in Libraries Conference: They should probably rename this one... as much as computers do appear in the sessions, the topics go far beyond the title. Speaking of sessions, I'm presenting two. This afternoon, I'm talking about teaching beyond the databases in academic libraries. Tomorrow, I've got more a lightning round chat where I'll be sharing some teaching tips. 
2. Project Planning: Now that the chaos of my faculty portfolio is over, I need to sit down with my to do list and reevaluate. There is more on there than I can reasonably get done in the next two months. I want to decide on my top three projects and focus on those. It would be great to knock some major things off my list before the semester is done. Plus, I need to remember that I have two more presentations to make stuff for.
3. Evernote Clean Up​: I, finally, caught up with my email. I'm using some of my extra time to clean up my Evernote. At this point, I only have one folder of material left to review. It's several hundred recipes but it shouldn't take that long if I just sit down and do it. I really need to pay attention to my tags. I've been remiss in marking things as "Made" once we've tried them.
