The Now: January 17, 2024

It's frigid today but I was thrilled to walk in the cold because I was taking our kiddo to school after 4.5 days without childcare. That said, I'm thrilled the snow hit DC on a holiday weekend. We got to take her sledding. I lost track of how many times she screamed, "Again!"

Here's what I'm working on:

1. Faculty Research Assignment Design: I've got 3-4 pages left to line edit in our first article. I should be able to wrap that up before we meet on Friday. In the meeting, we've been going edit by edit to make sure we agree. Afterwards, I think we'll each do a final read through before getting our submission ready for our targeted journal.
2. Embedded Librarian: We're in week two of classes. I'm doing some class pop-ins to introduce myself. I've also shared some content related to what the students are doing in each course. I've really enjoyed reading the students' intro posts and ice breaker answers. Plus, so many photos of cute kids and pets! 
3. File Management: There is a folder on my desktop called "Review." It's where I dump all the things I need to edit, read, rename, and file away in my personal life. I've ignored it for half a year. For the past week, I've been plugging away little by little most nights. I think I can empty it out by the end of this week. I would really love to have that back to zero. I'm also adding a calendar reminder to go through it once a month instead of waiting until I get a huge backlog.
