This afternoon, I had a meeting with my mentee. She's a student in the graduate library program I attended and we meet monthly. This month, she wanted to discuss the classes I found most relevant to my library work. I graduated from the program over a decade ago and going through my notes was a walk down memory lane. There were classes I have no memory of at all. But, there were several courses that are relevant to what I do almost every day. We had a great discussion about the courses and I'm excited to see what classes she chooses to round out her degree.

Here's what else I'm working on:
  1. Book Chapter: The first draft of my book chapter is due on Friday. I am deep into the editing. I've got a 3,000 word limit. My first brain dump of writing was 3,500 words. After one round of editing, I'm down to 3,050. Tomorrow, I plan on doing a round of editing using a paper copy. That is usually the best way for me to remove unnecessary material. Then it gets a polish before I send it off to the editors and for peer-review.
  2. Webinar Planning: The first session in our spring webinar series is next week. I'm finishing all the prep work and will blast out some marketing tomorrow. This semester, we're targeting faculty in sessions that cover research as it relates to funding and publication.
  3. 2023 Strategic Planning: I really need to finalize my plans and documents for my personal and professional goals for this year. I can't believe that we're already two weeks into the year.
