The Now: February 9, 2022

The sun is out today. I feel like this is the first time the sun has been out in weeks. Driving home last night, I realized that it wasn't fully dark yet. I am more than happy to welcome back longer days. I miss the light.

Here's what has my attention at the moment.

WORK

• We had a quagmire of logistics for library instruction sessions this week. We four teaching librarians are far out numbered by our faculty members. Throw in some (admittedly confusing) webforms and we've had to scramble to make sure everything gets covered. (We're going to fix those webforms.) Also making agenda, slides, videos, activities, etc.
• Three research interviews down and a few more to go. I'm slated to transcribe our interview from today so I'll start that sooner rather than later.
• Still converting over some old guides to the new webpage template. It's going slowly, but at least it's going.

PERSONAL

• Thanks to the Olympics, I've been able to make a noticeable dent in my email and Feedly backlog. It's a lot easier when I'm not being distracted by watching a really good Netflix show that requires subtitle reading.
• We're getting out of town for a long weekend. Putting together a menu plan and packing list. Travelling with a toddler for three days requires packing our entire home.
• I sent out some Valentine's on behalf of the kiddo. She helped "write" the messages this year.
• We bought a new bathroom light fixture and tried to hang it ourselves. The hanging was fine, the wiring we needed to hook up to was old. One spark, triggered fuse, and panic attack later... we're calling an electrician.
