The Now: February 7, 2024

My brain is mush right now. Between candidate interviews, teaching, lots of student appointments, and my kiddo deciding I'm not allowed to sleep, my brain is barely functioning. 

Here's what I'm focusing my limited energy on:

1. Hiring Committee Work: We are hiring an information literacy librarian. This position has been vacant for 8 months and we desperately need to fill it. While we continue to review applications as they come in, we've started interviews. So far, we're halfway through the pool. I'm happy to say that I like our options so far. 
2. HR Onboarding: In the past week, I managed to snag a YES to including the library in the University's required onboarding training. We can finally talk to everyone when they arrive! We'll attend the bi-monthly orientations and share about 15-minutes of material. I drafted slides to use and wrote an executive summary to share. Now I just need to nail down the scheduling.
3. Evernote Clean Up: I have not gone through my Evernote in nearly 6 months. It's a mess. Last week I cleaned up the "to sort" file that I default save new material in. Then I reorganized and deleted a few notebooks. Now I'm going note by note to clean up everything I've saved. It's fairly mundane work. Perfect for doing while watching some TV.
