The Now: February 14, 2024

In a staff meeting this week, we talked about how we couldn't wait for summer because things would be "easier." Then we all remembered that our entire library needs to move (again), this summer. Joke's on us.

Here's what I've been focusing on:

1. Lots of Instruction: This is the instruction heavy time of the semester. I've been making outlines, slide decks, and wrangling various activities. Today, I got to teach one of my favorite sessions. It's the convergent media seminar and I get to cover some niche skills and work with students on their awesome project topics. I've also been keeping on top of all the discussion board posts I need to make for my embedded classes. 
2. Hiring Committee: We've completed 4 out of 6 interviews for our hiring committee. The last two interviews are tomorrow. They're back-to-back. It's going to be a long day. I like our options so far but everyone has different strengths. Our committee will really need to nail down which strength we need the most.
3. Ski Trip Prep: Our annual friends ski trip is this coming weekend. I've been making lists of all the items I need to buy and pack, confirming and prepping childcare, and keeping all my fingers and toes crossed that nothing gets in the way of a few days of fun. I want that hot tub! (I am strictly après ski.)
