Anyone else just trying to coast into the new year? I know I am.

Here's what I am working on:
  1. Work Needle List: There are a bunch of small things I want off my plate before my last day in the office next week. I'm talking some policy reviews, proposal submissions, newsletter set ups, etc. All those little tasks that, alone, aren't bad but, together, are daunting. I made a long list, prioritized by date, and have just been knocking them out one by one. So far, I am on track to finish everything I want before I skip out for the holidays next Tuesday.
  2. Computers in Libraries Article: Following my presentation on "You Are Not Your User" at the Internet Librarian Conference, I was asked to turn my work into a magazine article. Luckily, my presentation outline proved to be a great article outline. Now, I'm slowly turning it into a written piece. I hope to finish the first draft this week. Then, I can sit on it over the holidays and do the editing in the new year. I've got a mid-January deadline. I should make it.
  3. Holiday Logistics: We're hosting Christmas again. I don't mind it but it does mean a lot of logistics. I've got shopping lists, menu plans, event management, and lots of errands to handle. Luckily, the husband takes his fair share so it's not too bad. We got smart and just reuse some existing lists and documents from previous years.
