The Now: August 4, 2021

We leave on our family vacation on Saturday. Luckily, we don't need to pack up the entire house, but there's still a lot of prep to do. Travelling with a toddler is it's own special kind of project management. I just spent a decent chunk of time looking over our packing list. Someone (coughmyhusbandcough) was smart enough to save the packing list from our last long trip to work from.

Here's what else has my attention at the moment.

WORK

• I never knew how much work was needed to get work travel approved. I'm going on multiple days and multiple rounds of documents now. But I think we're almost done... except for actually booking things.
• I finished the first round of edits for the customer service initiative. I need to add a new section, but that can wait until after my vacation.
• On top of conducting my annual edit and audit of Library 101, our asychronous learning platform, I added some new material. Some of the sections I created, others my colleagues made but I edited and uploaded. It feels good to have new stuff to market in the fall. One day I will find a way to convert this to a credit bearing course.
• Finished the slides and script for the video on OER that will be used in our faculty professional development. Now I just need to record it.
• Developed slides and notes for the customer service with empathy presentation I will be giving to the rest of the library.
• Started working on some new LibGuides. I am focusing on an antiracism one at the moment.

PERSONAL

• It's only been on my to do list for years, but we are finally getting around to creating all of those important legal documents you should have in life. Having a kiddo has kicked this one up to the top of my list. 
• We swapped out our massive speaker set up for a sound bar. That led to the husband moving some electronics around which led to me reorganizing our game and puzzle cabinet. I like more space!
• My podcasts to listen to list has gotten out of hand. I took a few moments to clean it up and clear things out.
• Set up my bullet journal for August.
