The Now: April 17, 2024

I'm "working from home" from Florida while my kiddo has her spring break. As go the laws of working in a new place, the internet went out this morning right before a meeting. My dad ended up "talking to a guy by a truck" who said the outage would be minimal. Luckily, I was only offline for about 45 minutes and I rolled into my meeting with a few minutes to spare.

Here's what I've been working on:

1. Hiring Committee: We finished our interviews and have two candidates we'd be excited to work with. Now begins the logistics and hoping that everything works out. We are very much ready to be done with this hiring process.
2. Editing: I've got edits due for two articles in the coming week. I always try to take a break between writing and editing so that things feel a bit fresh. Sadly, the peer-reviewed article we've worked on for so long I feel like I have parts of it memorized. BUT we are [thisclose] to finishing. It will feel good to have that off to the editor soon. This is my first peer-reviewed piece. Seeing the process from this side has been quite informative for my work as a librarian. 
3. Content Prompt Survey: I will be closing the reader survey for my newsletter today. After reviewing the results (mostly good!), I'll draft a report to share with my readers. I was happy to see my intuition on things was mostly correct. This will be fun to explore and expand. Yeah, it's more work for me, but I like it.
