I read a lot of books with my kiddo. Kid Reads is a biweekly look at what we've enjoyed recently. 

Goodnight Lab: A Scientific Parody

This is a take on the classic Goonight Moon. This is the best kind of homage because it gets so many details of Goodnight Moon, text and illustration style, in there while making everything science based. Also, it has a grumpy professor shouting "Publish!" which tickles my academic side every time. I love it when the kiddo grabs this book.
