Just Good Things: June 16, 2023

As I write, kiddo is playing some weird, made up game by herself on the bed behind me. It involves her dad's collection of baseball caps, the pieces of a fishing game, and a few stuffies. Her daycare is closed today for professional development. It is also closed Monday in honor of Juneteenth. Normally, I'm not a fan of extra long weekends because it makes working harder. This time, however, it's oddly well timed. Kiddo was diagnosed with another round of pink eye yesterday. Now she has plenty of time to recover without really missing any planned childcare. 

I'll take the parenting logistics wins where I can get them.

Here's what else was good this week:

• Lucking into an afternoon, same day sick appointment at our pediatrician
• Colleagues being on board with a project idea
• Loving our first farm share delivery 
• Science documentaries
• Playing the Just Dance video game with the kiddo
• Spending time with friends we haven't seen in awhile
• Dinner leftovers = tasty, quick WFH lunch
• Long lasting bouquet greenery
• A well seasoned, sous vided steak (thanks, hubby!)
