What I've Been Reading: August 1, 2024

I'm only a few pages into the second book in this series. Can I say that I already don't love the "surprise" the author started the book off with? It's too predictable. I will reserve full judgement until I see how things play out. I am, however, excited to see how the world grows. The first book was a lot of world building and less heavy on the narrative. It feels like this second book will be a nice balance of both.
