Our kiddo's school hosted her "moving up" ceremony this week. The kids all sang as a group and then each class got their own time to do something. It was utterly adorable. Little kids singing off-key while doing hand motions to the lyrics is always delightful. Also, those teachers know exactly which songs will make the adults cry.

I can't believe the school year is over already.

  • I should probably try chenin blanc. It seems like my kind of wine. [Wine Folly]

  • Delightful! [@helenplumlibrary]
  • The Accountant  2 has a different vibe from the first film. It is far more action orientated. The first was measured and methodical. It was almost quiet with punctuations of action. The sequel is a straight up action film. It spends less time on character development and far more on plot. They are setting this one up to be a real series. [Amazon Prime]
  • I found Mickey 17 to be positively delightful - almost charming. Robert Pattinson does a great job of inhabiting different personality types and the supporting cast of "That guys!" rounds out the story. The world building was also good. This sci-fi provides a take on alien worlds that you don't normally see. [Max]

  • Philly cheesesteak stuffed peppers was a rather tasty dinner, but I am going to make changes next time. First, it needs an acid. I will add a layer of pickled banana peppers under the cheese. Second, it's a bit oily. That could have been from the kind of meat I used (the frozen cheesesteak stuff), but the stuffing mixture would have benefited from being drained before I added it to the peppers. [Budget Bytes]
  • I tossed together roasted shrimp and pea couscous salad rather quickly. The speed might have been because I skipped the roasting part. I just pan cooked the shrimp and added the peas to the last few minutes of cooking in the couscous pot. We served this warm, but I think it would also work as a chilled dish as well. [the kitchn]
  • For my lunch meal prep, I mixed together buffalo chickpea salad. It was delicious but, also, weird. It had all the flavor of buffalo wings (which I wanted), but it was cold. This would not have worked as a hot dish, but since I'm so used to eating hot wings, the temperature threw me off. I served this with a side of baby carrots because that seemed appropriate.
