![]() Friday was supposed to be my lazy morning since I didn't have kiddo duty and it was a WFH day. Instead, it turned into leak clean-up and detection. Our condo has a recurrent leak that happens when there is a lot of wind-driven rain. The remnants of Hurricane Debby started hitting us Thursday night. I woke up to find quite the puddle in our living room. The water always seems to bubble up from the beneath our floorboards... and we're on the second floor. The source of the intrusion has always eluded us and our building engineer. After I cleaned up the puddle I left to get a necessary cup of coffee. When I came back, the puddle had started again BUT I spotted a drip from under a piece of molding that houses our thru-the-wall HVAC unit. AHA! I quickly cobbled together a catchment system using tin foil, painter's tape, and some rimmed cookie sheets. We still have no idea how the water is getting in on the outside of the building, but at least we can trap what is coming inside.
