The Now: October 23, 2024

I don't know if students are doing more research semester, it it's our embedded librarian program taking off, or simply the influence of our new library space, but I am answering a lot more deep reference this semester. I love it! It's like a treasure hunt where the reward is hearing students say, "This is perfect! Thank you!"

Here's what else I'm working on:

1. Presentations: I present at the online Internet Librarian Connect conference in about an hour. Tomorrow, I'm giving a webinar for the NC Live series. In three weeks, I'm presenting at the Library Marketing and Communications Conference. My slide decks are all awhirl in my head. 
2. End of Year Logistics: It's hard to believe that we are in the final quarter of the year. My University released our holiday closures, school is bombarding us with events, and there are still a few major projects I want to tackle. I'm spending some time laying out my calendar, Trello boards, and to-do lists for the end of the year. 
   
3. Newsletter Change: I decided to overhaul the subscriber bonus post for The Weekly Wrap. I started to find writing the My Top 3 post to be a slog. When that happens, it's time for a change. While I don't want to reveal my new  idea just yet, I am getting things ready on the back end. I think the new post is far more "on brand" and will be more interesting for readers.
