The Now: July 31, 2024

I've gotten so used to Zoom calls that phone calls seem weird. Our library works with faculty to help them adopt OER for their courses. One of our new adjuncts wanted to meet to discuss an upcoming class. I automatically scheduled a Zoom. Then they asked if we could make it a phone call. No lie - I had to look up my office phone number in our directory. But the call went well!

Here's what else I'm working on:

1. Common Read: I am about two chapters away from the end of this year's selection. I've taken 5 pages of notes. Next week, I'll turn all of that work into a guide to support our University's use of this book in classes. Good thing I have several years of this program to draw from. It's a lot easier to make a guide when I know what works.
2. Email Newsletters: By a quirk of the calendar, it just so happens that I need to send out several email newsletters on August 1. I spent this week gathering content, writing, and getting everything set to publish. Just waiting on some final statistics from this month.
3. August Life Management Prep: August is going to be quite the month. Our library *should* move into it's remodeled space, our kiddo is graduating from daycare and going to kindergarten, and I've got a week to myself where I want to DO ALL THE THINGS that are easier to accomplish when no one is around. So, I'm doing a lot of calendaring, setting up my bullet journal, and prepping lists so I don't miss anything.
